It would be good if in the custom field types we could have a lookup to other system components.
Sample use case: In a Policy Exception I would like to add a lookup field to the assets

Good point, in general filters go “One level deep” across sections.
Example: I list policies used in a Security Service X, i can select the name of the control but not its description or status, those two are “beyond” the “Policy Filter”.
This week we are releasing a huge change in filters , we reworked the engine completely, this deeper searches will be possible (not easy, but at least possible) from a development point of view.
We will use this post so we get from you all the ideas and develop them.
This is another example of a filter that needs to go “several levels deep”.
