I didnt see this in the learning section and perhaps I just missed it, but is there a way to give end users the ability to request exceptions to policies directly within Eramba?
Often times end users need to request exceptions to policies either because they realize that their system doesn’t comply with the existing policy or someone such as an internal audit department tells them they need to do it. It would be awesome if there was a way, either through the policy portal itself or through a separate portal to allow end users the ability to request an exception that is tied directly to the policy and then have someone that is defined as an exception approver for that policy get a notice and either approve or reject the request then have the system create the policy exception item in the background.
An example potential workflow might look something like this:
- End user signs into the eramba portal (either policy portal or an exceptions request portal).
- End user selects the policy that they need to have an exception for.
- A form (customizable by a system adminstrator) is presented to the end user based on which policy is selected.
- The end user fills out the form and a notice is submitted to the policy exception approver.
- The policy exception approver either approves or rejects the request.
- Eramba creates a policy exception record if approved that links the exception request to the exception record.
- A notice is sent to the requestor indicating whether it was accepted or rejected.
I realize this might be a bit much to request, but it is something I wanted to throw out there as I know exception requests and documenting such requests is often a pain point for many compliance teams that I have spoken with.
