The release announcement claims PHP versions have been updated and points bare metal users to a post from May 2023 with PHP 8.2 upgrade instructions => Php8.2 update - "source code" installs
My system health page from my Eramba dashboard shows these versions. Do I need to manually upgrade anything? Why don’t you just publish the new requirements if any, instead of linking to a 2-year-old post.
First of all, I would strongly recommend switching to the Dockerized version.
I’m not sure what you mean with your first point about dates—it’s normal for posts to be created earlier than the actual releases are published.
Regarding the PHP update, you’ll see a “not OK” item in System Health after the update. I’d like to point out the wording similar procedure—I’ll edit the description to make it clearer. Thanks for highlighting this.
I will add moving to a dockerized version to your agenda - is there a particular benefit over running bare metal?
About the dates: It’s up to you how you do it, I was just checking if there was a mix-up when I saw you announced the version released in September in February already. But it seems everything is correct, so I will just ignore the dates.
It seems you have edited the announcement to say “The system will require PHP 8.4” - thanks for clarifying. The confusion earlier stemmed from the fact that earlier the text said “must update dependencies” while pointing to instructions to upgrade to PHP 8.2 which has been a requirement for some time already.
