Since the last few updates to Eramba and the new GUI features, our notifications weren’t quite cutting it, so I made some edits and am stumped by the outcome.
So, it’s a notification about upcoming policy review in the next 30 days.
The text contained in the email is basically:
Click this link to read the policy: %SECURITYPOLICYREVIEW_DOCUMENT_VIEW_LINK%
Then click this link: %ITEM_URL% and leave your Review as a comment.
My colleague and myself then check the comments and create the review.
The problem:
In the emails received the first macro has not been resolved, the second one worked just fine. Since there is no “display a preview” or “send a test email” button, what to do?
There might be formatting issues, due to the online editor Eramba uses. Clicking the “formatting view” gives me a mess of unformatted HTML :-/
I mean I can copy the HTML, fix it and paste it back and then patiently wait for it to trigger again but is there not a better option? I now have to email all recipients who got the email with the broken link again, manually
Agree, having to wait one hour to test the notification is a problem. Changing this is already contemplated in the notifications migration.
For now, as a workaround, maybe you could use a comments and attachment notification to test the email body. Since it triggers right away, you could add a comment and flush the queue; that way, you don’t have to wait one hour.
Of course, this is just a workaround for the moment, we are really looking into adding some actual buttons to test the notification or at least a way to see what the actual email body would look like.
